Owen vs Tonya (Draw)

Recap

This was an interesting match between Tonya and Owen. It’s a rematch of sorts, but given it’s Pins Only, it was not the same as their last.

Both of them showed that they’ve been learning, as their technique was a little more refined than when they first wrestled. They were also both even more eager to win.

Owen spent the early goings shoving Tonya and trying to keep her down. The match took a big turn once Tonya got on top. Instead of relaxing once she was on top, she made great effort to hold his limbs down any way she could.

Seeing that Tonya wasn’t just relaxing and enjoying being on top had Owen in a bit of a panic as well. As the count went up to 5, 6, 7, a look of worry covered his face. He frantically flipped and flapped his limbs everywhere, but Tonya smacked them away and kept him pinned. 

Tonya’s thickness played to her advantage as she turned out to be too big for Owen to get her off. She got the count to 10 and pinned him in the same position she did in their last submissions match; except this time it counted as a point.

Here’s where the match took a turn… but not in the way you’re thinking

Owen’s phone started ‘dinging’ with text messages.

At first he ignored it. Then we paused the match to let him respond.

Eventually the text messages turned into phone calls. We counted at least 20 ‘dings’ of text message alerts and 3 or 4 phone calls.

As Owen pleaded with the person on the other end of the line to calm down, it became evident that it was his wife, Karen. 

Ultimately, we decided to call the match a Draw and let Owen attend to his personal matters at home with Karen.

Although Tonya had the advantage at 1 to 0, it’s not entirely clear who would have won for sure. We’ll look to set it up again sometime in the future.
