TerriThis match was made very quickly after Mara made her case that Terri shouldn't be allowed to pass her for the #2 spot in the rankings, when she hasn't faced her or beaten her yet. Mara feels her #2 spot has been long earned. To settle her claim, we proposed that Terri face her in a Multi-Round Penalty match for all the marbles. The winner would have a clear hold on the second spot. Mara will be a unique challenge for Terri. While Terri has faced many experienced women before, she has not faced anyone who has both Mara's physique and experience. Will the Terri train keep rolling, or can Mara derail her and retain her #2 ranking. The winner will have their eyes on challenging Christina for the top spot.

We knew that neither woman wanted to lose this match going in and the intensity of this match certainly matched the stakes. Even the officiating wasn’t easy in this one.
Things actually started out somewhat cordially between the two women. However, it didn’t take long for competitive fires to set in.
Both women want to put a strangle hold on the #2 ranking so that they can stake their claim to challenging Christina for #1. Mara made it clear that she wouldn’t roll over for Terri.
Terri was put on notice that she wasn’t going to steamroll anyone in this match. Mara used her strength to fend off Terri’s advances and even apply some crushing holds of her own. Despite giving Terri one of the better fights she’s had, Mara was still forced to tap out to Terri’s tight bodyscissors.
It was clear that Terri had been studying and learning more moves. Still, she was in for quite the surprise when Mara applied an unorthodox hold that had Terri’s leg scissored and her face covered. Terri wanted nothing to do with it and surprised Mara with a quick tap out to the hold.
The score was tied and things were serious.
That’s when Terri took it to another level. Terri scored a quick grapevine submission, stretching out Mara until she screamed. She wasn’t done yet. Terri caught Mara in a crushing headscissors early in the next round, scoring another submission.
Mara was finished.
Terri dealt out her penalty with scissors and sittings, making sure Mara understood who held the #2 ranking around here.
After the match, Mara told us privately that she thought things would have gone differently had we made some different calls on the action. Her frustration is understandable as this was a tricky one to call and Mara has become so close to being the top wrestler after fighting for years to call herself second to none.
For Terri, it’s another advancement and another example of her rapid improvement. Can anyone stop her path to the top?
