I've got a little confession to make.
I'm starting to feel bad...
After all I've said, you must be thinking 'jeez, does this girl do anything besides talk to friends and worry about boys?'.
That's fair. After all, I did spend a lot of time talking about friends and boys and catty things of the like.
And even though I told you this wasn't really //about// me, it's still important that you don't get a bad impression //of// me.
So, let me just say that the actual majority of my school time was spent doing school stuff. Honestly, for every five minute conversation I talk about, I probably spent five hours studying.
I'm not going to pretend to be a top of the class nerd or anything, but don't think for a second that I was a drop out party animal either.
I was studying hard and doing alright for myself.

[[Continue->Continue1-00]](set: $domainpath to "CollegePrologue4-")
(set: $domainpath to "http://www.scissored.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/CollegePrologue4-")I decided to tell Shara that I tried to talk to Casey.
She told me I was crazy for confronting those three girls on my own. She also said she would've 'slapped the taste' out of Sahana's mouth for talking like that.
She thinks I should be telling all of this to Lori, but I think it would just make her feel worse. I was just trying to help her out -- she doesn't need to know I hadn't succeeded...
Yet.
(print: '<img src="' + $domainpath + 'pt0-02.png">')
[[Continue->Continue0-02]] I wasn't the only one doing alright for myself. Lori was doing pretty well too.
So much so that even the profs were noticing. It's not like she was top of the class either, but still, she was studying hard too.
Even Professor Taylor noticed. She would talk to her before and after class a fair bit.
I wasn't always sure why they talked, but Lori always seemed to walk away from their conversations with a smile on her face. So I was sure it was only positive reinforcement and nothing negative.
I'd never had much mentorship from my teachers, so I admit I was a little jealous of Lori and Professor Taylor's private chats.
The more important thing was that it was helping Lori feel better during a time when she needed it.
But make no mistake. I knew there was one person still on her mind: Timothy.

[[Continue->Continue0-01]] I mean, come on... You didn't think I was just going to give up, did you?
If you did, then you haven't been paying attention.
(print: '<img src="' + $domainpath + 'pt0-03.png">')
[[Continue->Continue2-00]] I wasn't going to let anyone walk on me or my friends. I don't get walked on.
Especially not by low-lifes like Casey, Sahana or Tisha.
I had an idea.
I knew they loved gossip and rumours. I also knew that I could hear them coming from a mile away. In fact, I'd often hear them passing by the washroom just before lunch sometimes, in their loud ass high heels.
If I spoke loud enough from the washroom -- as if I were arguing with Lori -- then they'd hear it and wouldn't be able to resist listening in.
I could feed them any false rumour I wanted.
(print: '<img src="' + $domainpath + 'pt2-01.png">')
[[Continue->Continue2-01]] So that's exactly what I did. I hid in the washroom, just before lunch the next day.
And as expected, I could hear their feet clopping along like horses from a mile away. Soon after that I heard their annoying voices, as they got closer.
Although they usually traveled in packs, it didn't actually matter which of them was there. I knew that one of the 3 would always feed the rumour to the rest.
I pretended that I was having an escalating argument with Lori. The closer they got, the louder I got. It had to sound passionate.
(print: '<img src="' + $domainpath + 'pt2-02.png">')
[[Continue->Continue2-02]] "I'm telling you, he's sleeping around with everybody!", I shouted.
I'm sure they could barely contain themselves, but trust me; there was no way they were having as much fun as I was.
"Timothy is hitting on everyone! He even made a pass at me the other day!", I continued. "Do you really want to be with a sleeze bag like that?"
"I'm sorry, I'll calm down", I pretended to lower my voice just a little. "Here's what you should do"
"His latest infatuation is with that ugly slut, Casey.. So let him have her!", I declared. "She'll feel sooo fucking stupid once she realizes she's been used as just another whore"
"It's perfect -- they're meant for each other. The biggest whore and the biggest man-whore", I said with a laugh.
Seriously, you have no idea how much fun it was insulting them, knowing they were hearing every word.
(print: '<img src="' + $domainpath + 'pt2-03.png">')
[[Continue->Continue2-03]] "I wasn't going to ask him out anyways", Casey said dismissively.
"Hmpf, why would you?", Sahana replied. "The guy's a loser".
"Too bad those two losers are having such a hard time figuring that out", Sahana added.
(print: '<img src="' + $domainpath + 'pt2-04.png">')
[[Continue->Continue2-04]] It didn't matter whether they were telling the truth or not. I mean, they weren't, but still. I wasn't telling the truth either, but that also didn't matter.
The only thing that mattered was that I was going to get what I planned to get out of this.
... What? What's wrong?
Okay, don't say it. I know, I know, it's a little devious. But it's for a good cause!
Lori deserves a little happiness more than that bitch Casey, right?
And don't even worry about Timothy -- Casey, Sahana and Tisha only spread rumours to each other... and they also happen to be the only 3 people dumb enough to believe each others bullshit. Remember what I said about the stupid people always finding each other? That's them.
Besides, Timothy would have been miserable with Casey.
This was a job well done.
(print: '<img src="' + $domainpath + 'pt2-05.png">')
[[Continue->Continue2-05]] Still skeptical that I was right?
Well, look -- things went right back to normal. Lori and Timothy were talking and walking to class together.
Big butt Casey was out of the way.
It was perfect. Well, almost perfect.
Now, I'm not gonna lie and say that Lori learned her lesson and sped things up. She was still going at 'Lori-speed'; aka, turtle speed. But she was out of her shell again.
The fact it was at the expense of the 3 divas, Casey, Sahana and Tisha was just the icing on the cake.
... and no, that was ''not'' revenge. That was me just helping a friend. But don't think for a second I was ever going to forget the way Sahana and her trashy mouth talked to me that one day.
(print: '<img src="' + $domainpath + 'pt3-01.png">')
[[Continue->Continue3-01]] We were one happy little clique.
(print: '<img src="' + $domainpath + 'pt3-02.png">')
[[Continue->Continue3-02]] Truth be told, I never really got to know Timothy very well.
He seemed nice enough.
He sat with us at the dining hall in the dorm a couple times. He was pretty good about engaging all of us. You know how some guys only fixate on the girl they're interested in.. he wasn't like that.
He was smooth though. Gotta be careful with those ones, heh.
I just knew he was going to make a move on her soon. I could feel it.
(print: '<img src="' + $domainpath + 'pt4-01.png">')
[[Continue->Continue4-01]] Once again, I was right!
See, I have a sixth sense about this stuff. I hope you're learning that.
Just after the last time Timothy sat with us, he asked Lori to hang back alone with him. And I didn't need a sixth sense to knew what //that// meant.
So, Shara and I waited for her conversation with him to finish.
I was down right giddy.
... and I hate to say I told ya so, but I did, didn't I? If I didn't do anything, Casey and Sahana would have had their way and ''both'' Lori and Timothy wouldn't be in this position to be happy.
I realize that sounds like I'm taking a lot of credit, but it's not like that. I mean, if I was wanting all the credit, would I not have told Lori everything I did for her?
Exactly. I didn't tell her.
I didn't need credit. Her happiness was enough. I was just glad to help deliver it to her.
(print: '<img src="' + $domainpath + 'pt4-02.png">')
[[Continue->Continue4-02]] So, when she was finished I already knew what he'd asked her. I already knew the answer too.
This was like soft ball... or tee-ball, or whatever. You know, I set it up, all she had to do was hit it out of the park.
Easy.
"What'd he say?", Shara asked.
"He asked me out on a date", Lori responded with a surprising calmness.
There was a pause.
"... and???", I asked, looking for confirmation.
"And I said no", Lori said confidently.
(print: '<img src="' + $domainpath + 'pt4-03.png">')
[[Continue->Continue4-03]] There are only two times in my life that I can remember being totally speechless, and both of them had happened in the past few days.
One was being chewed out by that self-absorbed bitch, Sahana.
The other was this -- the moment Lori rejected Timothy.
Even Shara was speechless. We stood there in disbelief as Lori walked on as if nothing significant had happened.
Lori didn't understand that for a guy like Timothy, you weren't coming back from this. There wasn't going to be a second chance. He'd move on to someone else.
It was college. He had options aplenty.
I don't want to insult Lori, but I'll admit that I was frustrated at how badly she'd messed up the plan. I had set the table for her perfectly and she just tossed it aside like the trash.
Why???
(print: '<img src="' + $domainpath + 'pt4-04.png">')
[[Continue->Continue4-04]] That was exactly what I asked her.
"Why???", I said.
"I know you don't think I know what I'm doing, Kira", Lori replied. "But I do"
"Lori, that was your chance", I said.
"What the heck were you thinking?", Shara said aloud.
"Look, it's a bit private.. but I'll just say that I got some advice", Lori said.
"Advice?? About what exactly??", I asked.
"About //him//", she replied. "Advice about Timothy.. please, I don't wanna say too much".
I was even more baffled now.
"Why not? Since when are we keeping secrets?", I asked her.
"And who's giving that advice anyways?", Shara said.
Lori tried to level with us a little, explaining "I was asked to leave this person out of it."
"Kira, I made them a promise and I intend to keep it", Lori emphasized. "When I can tell you more, I will. I promise"
Frustrated, I sighed.
"This is my personal life we're talking about here.. can I just have a little space?", Lori asked. "For now?"
(print: '<img src="' + $domainpath + 'pt4-05.png">')
[[Continue->Continue4-05]] So... fine.. whatever. She can have her little secret.
I've got mine too.
After all that progress, can you believe it?
Oh, and it wasn't too long after that I heard about the new school counselor that would be coming in...
(print: '<img src="' + $domainpath + 'pt5-01.png">')
[[Continue->Continue5-01]] "And that's what brought you to me?"
(print: '<img src="' + $domainpath + 'pt5-02.png">')
[[Continue->Continue5-02]] "Well, eventually, yeah... Kinda", Kira replies. "So, what does our new counselor think?"
"Isn't it obvious?", Kim suggests.
"Your rumour made the rounds back to Lori and now she's got cold feet about Timothy", Kim concludes. "Perhaps you're just lucky that she didn't seem to know where it originates from".
(print: '<img src="' + $domainpath + 'pt5-03.png">')
[[Continue->Continue5-03]] Dismayed, Kira sits up.
"What?? No, that's not-- that's not it", Kira insists. "And how could you call that crazy scenario 'lucky'?".
"Because now you have an opportunity to tell Lori the truth. To salvage your friendship and build it on honesty", Kim explains.
"No, no, you're-- you're not getting it", Kira says, becoming frustrated. "I never once lied to Lori".
"Hiding the truth isn't the same as honesty, Kira", Kim says firmly.
(print: '<img src="' + $domainpath + 'pt5-04.png">')
[[Continue->Continue5-04]] "So, that's your theory, is it?", Kira says dismissively. "Casey is secretly telling Lori the rumour she heard"
"Casey... you know.. the person who Lori also //hates//", Kira continues. "I mean, were you even listening to me? Casey //knows// the rumour came from me and she thinks that I was //telling// Lori the rumour when she heard it".
"Or did you forget that little part, before you started accusing me?", Kira says with a confident smirk.
(print: '<img src="' + $domainpath + 'pt5-05.png">')
[[Continue->Continue5-05]] "I'm sorry if I sounded like I was accusing you of anything, Kira", Kim apologizes. "I know you were just trying to help a friend".
"... but the rumour could have come from someone else, besides Casey", Kim adds.
Kira jumps in, "someone else I told... who she //doesn't// already hate... would be just you..."
"According to your own timeline, I haven't been giving therapy at Junica College long enough to have been able to tell anyone", Kim says. "Not to mention lack of motive and our confidentiality agreement"
"Or maybe someone else is just giving Lori bad advice", Kira suggests. "Which is exactly why I came to you in the first place -- Lori needs your counsel. Not me"
"I'm here for Lori", Kira reiterates.
(print: '<img src="' + $domainpath + 'pt5-06.png">')
[[Continue->Continue5-06]] "Kira, I completely understand your concern", Kim says. "But I can't //force// anyone to be counseled by me"
"I ''do'' think I can help you though", Kim admits. "And I'd love to continue with another session if you'd be willing"
"However, I do have another student waiting to see me now"
(print: '<img src="' + $domainpath + 'pt5-07.png">')
[[Continue->Continue5-07]] "I don't see why we can't just bump the next person to later?", Kira says as Kim begins to usher her out.
"I'm sorry but I really can't do that", Kim insists.
"Well if Lori won't come her for herself, I expect you to have a time slot ready for me promptly", Kira states.
"I will, I will", Kim reassures. "I have //a lot// more feedback for you"
(print: '<img src="' + $domainpath + 'pt5-08.png">')
